Sarah turned six months old today. She definitely recognizes us when we walk into the room and is all smiles ready to be picked up. She babbles constantly but no coherent words yet. She is rolling all over the floor but not quite sitting up. Her balance is getting better and better each day, so it won't be long now. She doesn't go for her six month check-up for another week and a half. I'll have to post her stats later. She did weigh 17 pounds, 14 ounces when she went to the doctor for another ear infection last week.

ARF!
Jackson was in a theatrical performance (as Granddad would say) on Thursday. It was a musical about dogs called "Arf!" Here are a few bits and pieces from the musical. We may have an actor on our hands!
Oh No! Baby Arm!
Wednesday night we had all finished eating and were just sitting around the dinner table talking. Adam left the table and came back with Sarah's doll (which he has pretty much claimed as his own). Kevin and I started clearing the table when we heard, "Oh No! Baby arm!" I turned around to find Baby Doll Sarah lying on the table and Adam holding her arm in the air. It was the freakiest yet funniest thing I had seen in a while. I laughed so hard I cried. Jackson's response was, "Oh- don't ever let him hold Sarah!" We now have an armless doll who needs to visit the repair shop.
Trip to the Mebane Fire Department
Jackson's Cub Scout Pack went to the Mebane Fire Department for last week's meeting. Kevin took Adam and Jackson while Sarah and I stayed home. Adam was impressed by the big fire truck.
No, we don't have an addition to our family. This little boy just jumped into the picture. I guess he wanted his picture on the back of the fire truck, too.

Another Trip Around the Sun
My birthday was yesterday. After we all finished eating some cake, Jackson went and found some left over party hats from one of his birthdays. So we all donned the hats while Adam sang another round of "Happy Birthday".
Five Months Old
Sarah turned five months old last Sunday, but it wasn't until yesterday that I finally got a picture of her. She's been feeling a little under the weather for the past two weeks and therefore, didn't want to cooperate for a five month photo. She had a runny nose that bugged the mess out of her for a week and then she started sounding horrible when she breathed and had a terrible cough. I thought... "Great! Another kid with asthma." I took her to the doctor, and he diagnosed her with RSV and a double ear infection. Poor thing- no wonder she was so fussy. After a week and a half she seems to be all better and all smiles, too.
Oh- she was 17 pounds, 12 ounces at the doctor but I'm sure she's lost some of that due to not eating well for a week. We had to take a break from the cereal. She is having to start all over getting introduced to solid food again. So far, she has tried carrots, squash, and bananas. The first bite always gets an interesting grimace, but then she gobbles the rest right down.

All Dressed Up and No Where to Go!
Adam and Sarah stay with a former colleague of mine during the day. Jackson joins them after school. She has a little girl a little less than a year older than Adam. They play together very well. Here, Ivy has convinced Adam to dress up with her. I was told that Adam couldn't get very far in the high-heeled Tinker Bell shoes. Thank goodness! He probably would have wanted to wear them home!
